Mentoring Our Youth...

 

Our Mentoring Programs creates an atmosphere that is designed to decrease the limitations in the lives of youth to help them become more likely to fulfill their highest potential.

 

All techniques are developed using S.M.A.R.T. goals and utilize the following mentoring relationship models:

• Group Sessions

• 1 to 1 Mentoring

• Peer to Peer Mentoring

Single Parent Assistance (Fathers & Mothers)

Development needs of single parents :

• Emotional support (Counseling, peer groups assistance with developing support systems)

• Job- seeking skills

• Basic skills (especially literacy skills)

• Child care

• Analysis of the role of gender in occupational choice

• Self-concept building

• Skills Assessment

• The challenges of combining work and family roles

• Parenthood Education

The Mission of this Program is to assist with improving the lives of the abused, neglected and at-risk children through multidisciplinary efforts that support the identification, prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. Rise can provide advocacy and leadership within Guilford County, on the State and Federal level. For improved policy development, provision of services, public awareness, education and training.

 

Did you know, that there were Types of Child Abuse:  
 

• Physical abuse is when an adult hits or beats a child. 

• Emotional abuse is when an adult says things intended to make a child feel like a bad person.

• Neglect is when an adult withholds food, care and shelter from a child. 

• Sexual abuse is when an adult forces, threatens or induces a child into any kind of sexual contact.
